SAPPHIRE BLUE - after RUBY RED the second part of the time travel trilogy - combines an exciting fantasy plot with a stormy teen love story. It takes the audience on an adventure through time, a story about trust, love and betrayal.
It's hard to imagine a more exciting life for a teenager: Gwendolyn Shepherd, "the Ruby," travels through time, rebels against the secret society and is head over heels in love with Gideon de Villiers. Gwen wants to be free and refuses to bow to the conventions of the secret society. But her love of freedom puts her in danger. The obscure Count of Saint Germain wants to manipulate her for his own purposes in order to gain absolute power over time - and Gwen's life is at stake.
Lucy Montrose and Paul de Villiers warn Gwen of this great danger. Lucy, "the sapphire," has escaped to 1912 together with Paul. They always suspected that the Count wants to use the power over time for his own purposes and tried to warn the others from the Lodge, but no one believed them - they are considered traitors.
Together with Gideon, her best friend Leslie and gargoyle Xemerius Gwen tries to find out why she is so important to the Lodge.
When Gideon returns from a trip to see the Count, he tells Gwen that the Count would like to meet with her at a soirée in 1783. There, he says, she can learn more about her destiny. But something is different about Gideon; she has the feeling that he is hiding something from her. Mistrust slowly creeps into the relationship of the once so happy couple. Wich side is Gideon really on? Can she trust him?
Sapphire Blue is the second part of the Gemstone Trilogy and was supported by Film- und Medienförderung NRW, Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung, FFF Bayern as well as FFA and DFFF.
