Work 

2002 Screenplay adaptation of the play DIE KURVE by Tankred Dorst. The co-production with BR/arte is a great success and wins numerous international awards.
2005 Diploma at the Munich film academy with the thesis film GEFÜHLTE TEMPERATUR. In addition to the FSK rating "especially valuable", the film becomes a festival success (premiered at Hofer Filmtage). 

 

Since 2008 producer for mem-film in Berlin. Production of the feature film DRAUSSEN AM SEE / LOSING BALANCE. The film premieres at Filmfest München 2009, Katharina is awarded the "Förderpreis Deutscher Film" as best up-and-coming producer. Further festivals and awards follow.  

 

In 2009, shortly after the publication of the fantasy novel RUBY RED by Kerstin Gier, she falls in love with the story and successfully acquires the film rights. The sequel SAPPHIRE BLUE is released in 2014. The third part - EMERALD GREEN - is released in summer 2016. The "Gemstone Trilogy" brings over 1.8 million viewers to German-speaking cinemas and is sold in over 20 territories. Regularly, the films topped the DVD charts and were seen on all major streamers. 

In 2018 Katharina wins the renowned Emder Drehbuchpreis with her screenplay LIBERTAS (AT). 

  

Her first children's book HEY, MILLA - MEIN GEHEIMER WÜNSCHESOMMER is published in the summer of 2020, with two sequels in the HEY, MILLA series by Loewe Verlag in 2021. 

 

In 2021, she co-writes and co-directs the YA horror film "DAS PRIVILEG" together with Felix Fuchssteiner for NETFLIX.

Katharina Schöde is a member of the German Film Academy.
